Our last trip for the 2019 season was in the first 2 weeks of December. I had been looking forward to it all year. It did NOT fail to satisfy. It was by far our best December trip ever!! And we've had some crackers in the past!!
Our lucky guests hailed from the West Coast of SA & were an old bunch of mates.
The week previous to the trip had been a bit average, a hangover from a weird season of southerly winds, cold water, smoke haze & jellyfish.............
Then the Ments turned on its classic best conditions for us.It was insane! There were so many empty waves it was unbelievable.
There was only one other charter boat out in the whole islands & we only saw them in the distance twice the whole trip. All camps were closed & a beautifully lined up SW swell just kept on coming & coming every day getting bigger towards the end.
We all knew how lucky we were & woke up every day with large sunny smiles on our dials. It became known as the "delete, delete" trip due to the thousands of photos being taken. We also had a ring in guest from Chile who could not believe his last minute good fortune. By the end of the trip we were all exhausted, cut up & sick of surfing.
Having solid 6' Telescopes on the last day (NKA) was the icing on the cake. Everyone was frothing big time!!!!!
The conditions were just magic. Check out the brushed Sumatran glass & balmy backdrops & sunsets. All of the smoke haze had gone, we had rain & crisp offshore mornings with NKA.
It reminded me of my first trip there with Rinso on the Electric Lamb back in '95. ND certainly lived up to it's reputation of being the "off season specialists".
We have plenty of trips available for 2020 with some early bird specials. Pls inbox us for a deal & we'll put you into a "surf trip of a lifetime".
